Pennsylvania camping
You will find that most of the campgrounds that are located in PA have electric hookups and showers; however, there are some that do not. You may want to get the 411 on what the grounds offer before you book or reserve the site. Some of the campgrounds are walk-ins, but they are not very private.
They are mostly like an RV community. If you would like your privacy you may want to reserve a site in a camp and make sure that, you do not share the site closely with others. Many of the campgrounds offer around the year cabin rentals and reservations. As you know, Pennsylvania is known, as the backcountry is right in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains.
You are able to hike, bike, swim, boat, fish, and even hunt in PA. There are hundreds of things that you may want to go see like museums and such. Being part of the Appalachian mountain system, you will find that there are plenty of outdoor activities that you will enjoy. The only thing is that not many of the campsites allow pets to come along. You will have to verify the information to the specific campground.
When you are planning your trip to PA, you will want to plan for a time between Mid April (the first day of trout season) to the end of October. This is the time that that you are to make reservations for your trip. PA gets a very cold and snowy winter and renting areas to camp is hard in the winter.
You may end up finding a cabin, but unless you want to pay high fees, you may want to plan for the spring or fall. In addition, if you are planning on a camping trip between Memorial Day and Labor Day, you will find that reservations are required. This is the busiest camping season and you will find that you may not get the spots that you want, but have to go on a waiting period.
